What keeps me going.

I’ve just come back from New Zealand with one thing settled in my mind: I want to build my work around projects that mean something, where technical rigour goes hand in hand with creativity. Over the years my path has grown between woodcraft and the cultural world, two complementary worlds that keep feeding my practice.

A few years back a colleague and I had a project: building Tiny Houses. It didn’t work out at the time, but the urge to design and build places to live is still very much with me. I’ve also just come across the idea of the passive house, which draws me in too. I get a real kick out of taking on technical and creative challenges to make places that are useful, pleasant, durable and green. I love wood as a structural element and I’m fascinated by everything the material makes possible in building. Working it is something I’m genuinely passionate about.

Alongside that, serving culture by building sets or scenography is a core part of who I am professionally. Being at the heart of artistic projects is a thrill. Whatever the scale and the challenges, it’s an incredible source of motivation and learning. Turning visions and ideas into real things, first in the workshop and then in the field, is deeply satisfying. Sets often end up woven together with other art forms like music or live performance, which places the work within a wider cultural effort, and that’s really rewarding.

These days I’m looking for a company, a collaboration, a collective or a committed outfit to share these ideas with. I want to put my skills to work on projects that speak to me, while I keep learning and growing.

Mobility: open to relocating in France or abroad (English C1, Spanish B1).

On site: also open to opportunities or work as an entry-level rope access technician (6 weeks of training and a month of experience).
